Psychiatrist Joyce Lashof

Colonel (later Brigadier General) David Irvine testified before the Presidential Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veterans’ Illnesses, urging it to probe connections between Iraqi chemical and biological warfare systems and ill American veterans, and to interview biowarfare expert Colonel Gerry Schumacher. Schumacher was never contacted by the committee (chaired by psychiatrist Joyce Lashof), an omission Irvine described as “an unbelievable dereliction which, in my sense of things, suggested that this was not really a committee that was interested in ascertaining true facts.”
