Solutions to Drugs
Thousands find effective help for the ill effects of drugs, toxins
On the Purification Program in Beverly Hills Mission.

For many in the Southland, it has been increasingly difficult to avoid drugs and their consequences in some way. No parent fails to worry that their school-age children will start using street drugs by the time they reach high school. A growing number of young adults become all too familiar with a range of drugs from marijuana and ecstasy to cocaine at younger and younger ages.
By the time they settle down into a career and long-term relationship, and think about raising their own family, priorities change. Health and its relationship to longevity takes a more important role in their lives.
Thus among the most popular services provided
by the missions and churches of Scientology is the Purification Program, to eliminate accumulated drug and toxic residues from the body through a regimen of exercise, sauna, vitamins and minerals, nutrition and rest.
While a person on the program may experience a sense of physical well-being from ridding the body of drugs and toxins, the purpose of the service is spiritual.
L. Ron Hubbard developed the program in the 1970s after observing
the proliferation of drugs in the culture, and the blocks they cause for mental
and spiritual awareness and development. It not only addresses the effects of drugs, but also of environmental toxins that accumulate from living in a drug- and chemical-saturated society.
"I’d completely forgotten what it’s like to feel so clean, like I did when I was a kid, and full of energy,” said Tom Short, who completed
the Purification Program at the Redondo Beach Scientology mission. “I expected to feel better but this is just something else. A fog lifted off me. I’m alert, more spiritually aware, and I even see and hear better. I can think more clearly and when I read, I seem to just absorb information. There’s nothing holding me back anymore.”
The program has been used in Churches of Scientology since 1978; hundreds of thousands of individuals who have completed it have attested to significant increases in their
spiritual awareness, perceptions and vitality, and say they have regained a remarkably positive outlook on life.
The procedure is also published in L. Ron Hubbard’s book, Clear Body, Clear Mind, available through Churches of Scientology and in public bookstores.
