8 Ways Prop 63 Will Destroy Life and Prosperity in California
Prop 63, if passed, would generate an additional $275 million, then $750 million, then $800 million spending spree for the multi-billion dollar mental health industry over each of the next three years.
In these eight ways, tax dollars poured into this system can only bring chaos:
1
Millions more lost in criminal and civil fines, restitution and jury verdicts
|
2
More corruption in a system already under federal investigation
|
3
Tens of millions more wasted on fraudulent billings
|
4
Thousands more involuntary detentions
|
5
Harsher burdens imposed on taxpayers
|
6
More Constitutional and human rights violations
|
7
More deaths of patients from excessive restraints, over-drugging, suicides
|
8
More drugs, causing more violence, crime and insecurity
|
Locked in
Not only will it create mega profits for the psycho-pharmaceutical industry, but it will also lock them in. Prop 63 dictates that mental health programs can never be cut. This means that programs that are actually needed and do work for the community — police and fire protection, education, aid for dependent families and children, domestic violence relief, pre-school care, and highway maintenance, to name a few — will be cut, and profit-machinery of the mental health industry, which brings us suicidal and homicidal youth, will be fed.
